Field Day is a nationwide event held the 4th weekend in June every year. The objective is to set up amateur radio stations in a temporary location using generators or batteries for power to simulate emergency conditions. Set-up is Saturday morning with the contest going from 1 pm Saturday until 1 pm Sunday. Flagstaff Hill at Krape Park is our usual location. Wire antennas strung from trees and temporary towers supporting beam antennas are used.
